Every delivery Petals of Light has ever made began the same way — with one person deciding that something beautiful did not have to end when the celebration did. We gather donated flowers from weddings and events, reimagine them into personal hand-tied arrangements, and deliver them completely free of charge to seniors in memory care, veterans' homes and treatment centers, women in shelters, cancer patients, and care communities across the greater Oklahoma City metro area. That decision set off a sequence of events that is simple, intentional, and entirely powered by the generosity of people who believed a bloom was worth more than being discarded.
No cost. No complicated logistics. Just a willing heart — and then us, taking it from there.
This is what that looks like from beginning to end.
It Begins With a Yes.
A wedding coordinator picks up the phone. A florist sends a message after a long weekend of events. A bride decides at the last minute that she wants her centerpieces to go somewhere meaningful. A venue reaches out because they have beautiful arrangements left standing in an empty room and nowhere worthy to send them.
However it arrives — a call, a message, a form submission — that first yes is the moment everything else becomes possible. We respond promptly, we coordinate pickup directly, and we make the entire process as effortless as possible for everyone involved. There is no cost, no complicated logistics, and no burden placed on the person generous enough to pass their flowers forward.
Just a yes. And then us — taking it from there.
We Come To You.
Once a flower donation is confirmed our team coordinates everything. We arrive at the venue, the studio, the farm, or wherever the flowers are waiting — and we gather them with care and gratitude. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is treated as leftover or ordinary. Every stem that comes into our hands is handled with the full understanding of where it is going and who it is going to.
Pickup is always free. Always coordinated around your schedule. And always met with a thank you that we genuinely mean.

Back at the arranging table our volunteers gather around donated blooms and begin the joyful work of reimagining them. Stems are sorted, trimmed, and thoughtfully combined into fresh hand-tied arrangements — each one unique, each one made with intention, and each one prayed over before it leaves our hands. There is laughter at that table. There is music sometimes. There is the particular kind of satisfaction that comes from taking something beautiful and making it even more so — knowing exactly whose hands it is headed toward.
This is where a centerpiece from a Saturday night wedding becomes a Monday morning delivery that changes someone's entire week. This is where the donation becomes the gift.

Our volunteers carry fresh arrangements into every corner of this community where people are walking through something hard — and not one of those deliveries has passed without something shifting in the room the moment the flowers arrive. A face turns. Hands reach out. A smile surfaces that the staff quietly notes they have not seen in longer than they can remember — proof that every donation made, every stem passed forward, and every investment in this mission carries an impact that reaches far beyond what any balance sheet could ever fully capture.
And then the door opens.
We have never once walked into a room with flowers and had nothing happen. Something always shifts. A face turns. Hands reach out. A smile appears that the staff quietly tells us they have not seen in longer than they can remember. A woman in a shelter holds an arrangement to her face and closes her eyes. A veteran straightens in his chair. A grandmother whispers thank you to nobody in particular — or maybe to everybody.
