About Petals of Light
Petals of Light was born from a simple but deeply held belief — we are called to be light. To bring beauty where it has
faded. To show up with love in places that feel forgotten.
After seeing beautiful floral arrangements discarded at the end of events, we began asking a different question: what if
that beauty could continue its purpose? What if those same flowers could land in hospital rooms, memory care centers, and
VA facilities — carrying joy into spaces that need it most?
For us, this mission is both personal and faith-rooted. We believe we are called to be the salt and the light — to bring
love, connection, and hope into difficult seasons of life.
Beauty speaks a language everyone understands.
Meet the Founders
Sara
Sara is the heart behind Petals of Light. As a cancer survivor, she has experienced firsthand how even the smallest act
of kindness can change the course of a difficult day — a visit, a smile, a bouquet. These things matter more than we
often realize.
Having grandparents in memory care, she saw how easily people can feel forgotten. And yet, even in memory loss, beauty
is still understood. Flowers still make people smile. Joy still lands.
Petals of Light exists because Sara believes that no one should feel unseen during their hardest seasons.
Chris
Chris brings steadiness and servant leadership to the mission. A retired Navy veteran, supporting the VA community is
deeply personal for him. With Sara’s father having served in the Air Force, honoring veterans and showing up for those
who have served our country is part of their family story.
From logistics to lifting and delivering arrangements, Chris helps ensure the mission moves forward with excellence
and care. His heart for service continues — just in a different uniform.
Our Foundation
“You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world.
A city set on a hill cannot be hidden… Let your light shine before others,
that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
